We're delighted to appear in this months edition of the Shropshire Review
The word `Tesni’ means `warmed by the sun’ in Welsh. A poetic, bardic word also associated with magical charm, it sums up our approach and the way we feel about the homes we are building. It also ties us to our roots, situated as we are on the Welsh/English border and with our grounding in the renewable energy and sustainable development sector. We are delighted to present six individually designed 4-bedroomed homes on Morda Road, Oswestry.
At Tesni, we love the great outdoors, carefree days and the long summer nights and believe happy homes make for happy people, which is why it’s important to create a living environment, both inside and out, that encourages the whole family to thrive. We try to capture that magical charm in our homes, by cleverly combing design expertise with an understanding of the importance of ecological innovation and responsible building.
We want to create calm and comfortable spaces filled with warmth and light. All our homes are fitted with photovoltaic solar panels which harness the sun’s energy, even on cloudy days, to power lights and household appliances. This not only reduces electricity bills but cuts nearly two tonnes from the carbon footprint of each home every year.
Moving inside, large windows are complemented by Velux sun pipes which capture the rays of light on the roof, transporting them through highly reflective tubes to provide additional internal illumination. Sun pipes are a great energy saver, delivering lots more light than a lightbulb and removing the need for lights to be switched on during the day.
Natural light sources not only help to create a bright, modern setting for living, but also deliver benefits to the environment thanks to a reduced reliance on fossil fuels and electricity. What’s more it’s been proven to improve our general health and feeling of wellbeing.
We’ve installed a heat recovery system in all our homes which removes the stale air from your home and replaces it with fresh air from outside. It does all this without removing heat from your home, and helps keep energy bills nice and low.
These are just a few of the features of a Tesni home. We hope you’ll love them as much as we love building them. Home really is where the heart is and our homes have a lot of heart.
